The Behavioral Intention of Hospitals to Promote Sustainable Development of Green Healthcare from the Perspective of Organizational Stakeholders during the COVID-19 Epidemic: A Case Study of Hospitals in Taiwan

When the World Health Organization (WHO) analyzed culprits of global warming, it was found that in developed countries with relatively few high-polluting heavy industries, medical sector is one sources high-density carbon emissions. Therefore, industry has a noticeable impact on environment. Amid current COVID-19 epidemic, this study adopts theory planned behavior (TPB), widely used decision-making science. We selected regional teaching hospital 339 employees Taiwan to obtain valid questionnaire data. explore comparative analysis different intra-organizational stakeholders’ “attitudes,” “subjective norms,” and “perceived behavioral control” hospital’s intention promote green healthcare. The results show TPB model reliable explanatory power. All three factors have positive significant effect promoting behavior. Among them, perceived control most notable. A differences among stakeholders research shows “medical administrators” “nursing staff” higher proportion influence effects various hypotheses, highlighting critical roles these two groups hospitals. This policy suggests cross-departmental staff put forward innovation ideas, strengthen internal environmental education management, establish good incentive system for front-line nursing staff, implement sustainable development strategy hospital.
